Does Mr. Boggis get what he wants at the end of the story 'The Parson's Pleasure'? Explain.
Answer
No, Mr. Boggis does not get what he wants. He intended to buy the rare Chippendale commode for a pittance to resell it for a fortune. However, the owners, thinking the legs were the only valuable part and wanting to help him fit it in his car, cut the legs off and smashed the rest of the piece, destroying its antique value.
